Ran my last 32km run this weekend, with a couple of training partners and friends - two and half bridges route. The weather was fantastic: brilliant sunshine on a chilly fall morning.
The run was decent, although bridges are a necessary evil – the second narrows bridge was my least favorite part – mostly because of the traffic whizzing by on the left, and the narrow, single file climb over the bridge. Managed to pull off some race pace km for the last few km and managed to average race pace roughly for the last 17km, so hopefully that translates = good race day. But, anything goes on race day, so I’m trying not to count on anything.
I can’t believe it’s only three weeks till NYC. I cannot wait to experience NYC. It’s been a crazy year, and a such long journey to this point. Months of training and some big bumps in on the road. NYC will be sweet. Moreover, this is likely my only chance to run NYC, so I may as well soak in the experience and enjoy it.
